1. Understanding Your Travel Priorities
Every traveler has different goals—wildlife photography, adventure, family bonding, luxury, or cultural experiences. Begin by identifying what matters most to you. Are you seeking intense wildlife viewing? A relaxing lodge escape? Or a mix of safari and cultural immersion? Knowing your priorities helps narrow down the itinerary that fits your expectations.
2. Choosing Destinations That Match Your Interests
Tanzania offers diverse safari experiences, from the vast plains of Serengeti to the lush forests of Lake Manyara and the dramatic landscapes of Ngorongoro Crater. Adventure seekers may prefer remote areas like Ruaha or Nyerere, while first-time travelers often choose the Northern Circuit. Select destinations based on what you want to see—Big 5 encounters, the Great Migration, birdlife, or scenic landscapes.
3. Matching the Duration to Your Travel Pace
Your safari length affects how deeply you can explore each destination. Short itineraries (2–4 days) suit quick getaways or combined trips with Zanzibar. Medium-length safaris (5–7 days) offer a balanced experience, while longer expeditions (8–12 days) are ideal for exploring multiple parks without rushing. Choose a pace that allows you to enjoy each moment comfortably.
4. Considering the Season of Travel
Wildlife behavior changes with the seasons. The dry season (June–October) offers peak game viewing, while the green season (November–May) brings lush landscapes and fewer crowds. For the Wildebeest Migration, timing is key—calving season occurs in January–March, while river crossings happen from July–September. Align your itinerary with the experiences you want most.
5. Deciding on the Level of Comfort and Style
Safari experiences range from budget-friendly camping to midrange lodges, luxury tented camps, and exclusive high-end retreats. Your comfort level can shape your itinerary—luxury travelers may prefer longer stays in fewer, premium camps, while adventure lovers might enjoy mixed accommodations or mobile camps that follow wildlife movements.
6. Balancing Activities for a Rich Experience
Beyond game drives, many itineraries include cultural visits, walking safaris, night drives, hot air balloon rides, and village tours. Choose activities that complement your interests and energy levels. A well-balanced itinerary blends wildlife, culture, relaxation, and adventure for a fulfilling safari experience.
7. Consulting Experts for Personalized Planning
A safari company or expert guide can help tailor your itinerary to your travel style, budget, and timeline. They know seasonal wildlife patterns, park logistics, and the best accommodation options. Their insight ensures your safari is well-coordinated, rewarding, and perfectly aligned with what you hope to experience.

Even the drive to the park was a great experience – he drove pleasantly safely and told a lot about the country, people and nature. After a quick check-in at the gate and a pee break we went straight into the adventure. What are we gonna say? It was simply fantastic: fascinating scenery, lots of animals and a guide who was with heart and knowledge in the matter. For lunch we had hot food – simple but delicious – and then continued on a game drive in a closed jeep with a hinged roof.Silas was our walking animal lexicon for three days – always friendly, attentive and passionate about it.A real highlight was also Camp Bastian – cozy, good food and great Service (tip: have the room sprayed against mosquitoes in the evening, then sleep in peace). Finally we went to the Udzungwa Mountains with a great hike to the waterfall (swimming included!).Conclusion: We are overjoyed to have chosen Nayla African Safaris – and especially Silas, probably the best guide you could wish for! Thank you🐘✨ KathrinVerified 3-day safari We had a great three day safari. It was all perfect, just like I had discussed with Diana. We had a great German speaking guide, a small, cute lodge with great food. We were lucky enough to see great animals and enjoy the wonderful scenery. We would do it over and over again. Melinda SVerified This was a once in a lifetime, surreal experience Diana was amazing, the driver was so knowledgeable and knew exactly how to drive through the Serengeti and crater. Diana made sure everything was planned and did exactly what I asked if her. She answered all my questions in a timely manner. There are so many tour guides to choose from but the reason I chose her is because she was attentive and had quick replies to my questions and concerns. She informed me on what type of clothes to bring, where I was staying, booked the flights and prepared the meals. Everything was perfect!! SantorineVerified 2 Day Safari in Tarangire and Ngorongoro Parks I went on a 2 day solo safari in Tarangire and Ngorongoro Parks from Arusha in September 2025. I had booked my safari with the agency Nayla African Safaris which has good reviews on Tripadvisor. Communication with Diana has always been fluid. She answered all my questions and always in French. The contract was well detailed and corresponded to my expectations. On the spot, I was accompanied by a French-speaking guide, Moris, very professional, very kind and very patient. He always gave me a lot of time to take pictures and gave me a lot of information about animals and Maasai culture. Thanks to Diana and Moris for this safari that met all my expectations. brausemausVerified Great Safari- just everything perfect We experienced three great days of safari. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. Our guide Benny was great, a little shy, but such a lovely guy. He showed us animals and things we would never have discovered on our own. The contact with Diana was just great from the beginning, she went to so much trouble to design everything according to our wishes. We felt so safe all the time. Even when there were problems with a cancelled flight on the outbound flight from Zanzibar, Diana reacted in a hurry and rebooked us in seconds for the next flight. First class! Highly recommended this great Enterprise . Explore58922837168Verified Great support, great guide and confident driver Starting for us she has journey away from Zanzibar. After the original flight to Arusha was cancelled, we were booked a new flight within minutes. The support was really great, accommodating and fast. Arriving in Arusha, our guide and driver welcomed us and we went straight to Tarangire National Park. Due to the delay we had less time in the park, but the team really tried to show us as much as possible anyway. On the second day we were in the crater and again it was beautiful. The picnic location was well chosen and we ate next to hippos. The last day we were at Lake Manyara. Again, it was beautiful.Overall it was a fantastic 3 days. The guide tried very hard to explain and show us as much as possible. Many thanks to the entire team for the unforgettable stay, uncomplicated booking and support throughout the trip! I would book it again and again. Patrick MVerified Great support, friendly guide/driver , breathtaking experience Great and quick support when there were problems with the local airlines.Had three fascinating days and very sympathetic and motivated guides/drivers who really tried to show us all the animals we wanted to see.In addition, we would be very well fed during the safari with cool drinks (water, soft drinks, beer) as well as at lunchtime with good food If I do a safari in Tanzania again , I would ask Nayla for my next trip without much thought 😁 Coastal24242264140Verified Anytime again Super travel planning and implementation. There were problems at the airport because our original flight was cancelled but Nayla Safari was always available during the chaos at the airport and then very quickly rebooked us on a new flight. Other travelers who booked through other agencies were less fortunate. The safari itself was great. The guide and our driver were super nice and dedicated. In addition, we were always provided with food and drink. Clear recommendation! It was incredible! Christine PVerified Beautiful and dreamlike We had a 3-day safari in Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park. It was all perfectly organized by Diana. With the guide Dickson the time was just great. He just let us experience 3 wonderful safari days. We also had a lot of fun with Dickson. He spoke very well German with us. The German language was a very important companion for us. The safari was fantastically beautiful, in the various parks with different vegetation. The animals were a full experience.Danke an Nayla African Safaris!Next time we would love to spend with you again!
